The sandwiches here are really good and portion for price os very reasonable. He serves up the kids at St Johns and even gives them a discount. I used to get an egg and cheese from here for breakfast and honey turkey on a hero with lettuce, onions, and russian dressing for lunch. ”
“ Double J has a new hidden gem in their menu... if you are a big fan of extremely hot sauce and spices look no further...They have seemed to master the same hot sauce recipe from the halal guys in NYC. if you want extremely spicy good food get the halal combo and salad with just hot sauce. “ Ignore that Stanley review, a L.I. goof who doesnt know NYC or this neighborhood. Double J is a place that has been solid with a great staff for years. Its nice to have a local place and not another Starbucks. Also consider that St Johns University just started dorms in the last decade and Double J adapted despite the amount of drunk, obnoxious kids that come in at 2 am on a Thurs. Food is great, prices fair, good people, great store. Go back to the mall in Garden City if you dont like good blue collar people. ”
